The new Business Partners of The Jekyll & Hyde in Hook, Hampshire, have confirmed a strong first six months of running the gastro pub. Terry and Bobbie Allen are the new Business Partners of The Jekyll & Hyde. Terry brings more than 25 years of hospitality experience to the role, having previously managed a range of pubs and restaurants. He has also worked alongside Michelin star chef, Michael Wignall at the Latymer restaurant in Surrey. Bobbie previously worked in corporate finance and recently retrained in accountancy. She now leads operations, HR, and finance for the pub, also proving to be hands-on behind the bar. The Jekyll & Hyde has been part of the H&W family for 40 years, and it reopened its doors in March 2025 following a six-week transformation to return the pub to its original roots. Formerly operating as a Greek restaurant, the pub has now been reimagined by the couple to create a classic pub feel interior with a refreshed bar area. The outdoor space has also been revamped with a dedicated play area for children. Commenting on the first six months, Bobbie said: “We’re thrilled with the support we’ve received over the last six months. It’s been a real labour of love, with long days and hard work fixing the pub up. The whole family has been involved from the start. The pub isn’t just our business, it’s our life. We’ve set out to create a warm, traditional pub that’s truly for the community. It’s affordable for families, focused on real hospitality, and built on values that matter to us. Every member of our team, no matter their role, knows the importance of a friendly welcome, because that’s what makes a pub feel like home.” The pub now serves traditional pub food and prides itself on providing guests with a restaurant-quality dining experience. Terry’s menu features a strong emphasis on homemade dishes and ingredients sourced locally within Hampshire. The restaurant makes approximately 95 percent of its dishes in-house, with highlights including Sunday roasts, freshly baked bread, and desserts. Terry added: “We’ve always dreamed of running pubs. When we saw The Jekyll & Hyde, it felt like fate. We wanted to create somewhere for people to enjoy a pint, a pie, and a chat by the fire.
