Kings Arms

Bleke Street, Shaftesbury, Dorset, SP7 8JZ

The Kings Arms is a key Business Partnership pub in North Dorset and was a longstanding significant Managed House on our estate. It is the largest and most prominent pub in Shaftesbury and although it is currently a drinks-led business, it does have facilities and scale to offer a significant food offer.

Shaftesbury dates back to mediaeval times and is one of the oldest towns in Britain as well as one of the highest at 718 feet above sea level. It has a population of around 10,000 and the famed steep cobbled street Gold Hill has featured on the cover of countless books about Dorset and rural England. It was famously used as the street in the popular Hovis bread advert, directed by Ridley Scott, used during the 1970s and 1980s.

It has a substantial trading area divided into four sections, which includes a magnificent open fire and attractive patio area. The pub benefits from a separate skittle alley/function room, which currently trades as a profitable machine and pool lounge, as well as a good-sized catering kitchen and underground cellar. The pub entrances are from the car park on one side, and from the road through the town centre on the other, so you further benefit from great visibility and easy access for visitors.

The domestic accommodation is currently divided into two different living areas and includes four bedrooms, two private kitchens, two lounges, two bathrooms and an office.
